Take Me Home (Layla's Story)

Chapter 3: New Team Member

I am rather scared about meeting my new colleagues in the Freedom Fighters. Or at least, 2 of them. I know Jackie quite well. Sally has teamed me with Jackie's group that consists of her, Nayma, and a guy called Eli.
I walk into their shared office, and Jackie is the first to greet me.
"Dawn! Hey girl!" she says. "How are you?"
"I'm fine," I say. She raises an eyebrow at me. "Jackie, please stop pretending to be Candor."
"Sorry, force of habit, can't help myself," she says. "But yeah, I'll stick with Dauntless."
We both giggle. It's quite funny seeing Jackie pretending to be someone she's not.
"Nayma, come meet Dawn," Jackie says, and a dark grey hedgehog walks over.
"Hi, you're Dawn, right? I'm Nayma," she says.
"Yeah, I'm Dawn," I say. "I'll be working in your team from now on. What's the case?"
"We've been locating a girl named Layla who's been tortured and abused most of her life," Jackie explains. "We sent Eli out to find her now that we know her location. All we need now is information on her abuser."
"That sounds horrible! Why would someone do that?" I ask.
"Because some people are just sick in the head," Nayma replies.

After a while, we've managed to find a little information on the girl's abuser.
"Got it," Nayma says. "It's in the same house that Layla is in."
"Well obviously, if they're keeping her hostage, Nayma," Jackie replies.
"Whatever. Anyway, the abuser is a he. His name is Tye, and he's a green hedgehog with red eyes."
"Let's get that info to Eli," I say.
I've grown rather fond of Nayma, which only makes me more excited to meet Eli now.
