Perfection
I didn't know why Annabeth didn't like her eyes. They were beautiful to me.
I didn't understand why Annabeth thought her hair didn't make her look serious.
She was always intimadating.
I couldn't know why she was always looking in the mirror.
She looked perfect.
But I could see she was always trying to be better, improving herself. And if she was shining before, now she shone like the sun- maybe even brighter.

"Annabeth?"
"Yeah?"
"Why do you think you're imperfect?"
"Cause I am."
".... I can't understand."
She smiled. "Nobody is perfect Percy. Even you."
"... I'm not?"
She threw her head back laughing. "Seaweed Brain." she sat on the bed next to me. "Why do you think we go on dangerous quests?"
"To save the world."
She pursed her lips. "For you, yes. For other campers, it's different. We want to become famous."
"I think that will be tiring."
"Maybe. But you're a special case. Many people think if we become famous, we become perfect."
"Make it clearer."
She thought for a few moments. "... Our whole life is taking steps to perfect. We keep on walking till we're all worn out and dead. Is it easier?"
"I don't want to live a life like that."
She kissed me on my forehead. "You are. We meet each other to make our lives more perfect."
~
"Are you perfect now Annabeth?"
I sat down in front of the tombstone.

"I guess you should be. Now that the perfection wore you off."
I sighed.
"I wonder when I'll become perfect enough to join your side."
