Arriving Into a Nightmare
Here is the prologue because I didn't have room...“Once upon a time, there was a planet ruled by Death, it was the most evilest planet in the entire universe,” little Nicole read, Sara giggled. The two were only 6 years old and they were alone at home. The fireplace crackled merrily but suddenly, it went out. There were two thumps and when the lights came on, Sara and Nicole were lying unconscious on the big armchair and a boy about the same age stood next to a hooded figure, “Why did we have to hit them, dad?” he asked. “My son,” the figure said, “they are my sworn enemy. Once 9 winters have passed, they will try to kill me; they are much too powerful together.”. “Oh, that's bad,” whispered the boy, “Come, I think the foster families are in need of a new child. They tried to pull the book away from Sara but she held onto it so they took her and carried her away, their shadows disappearing into the night.
Sara left the bus, she felt exhausted. She just came to a campsite with her classmates for a summer camp activity. Sara went to her cabin, she was sharing with her best friend Amy, and her classmates Jenny and Chloe. It was a full moon, Sara was still awake; she had dozed off while doing some homework so she couldn’t sleep. She was half awake when she heard a soft scratching noise like sandpaper sliding on stone, she looked up, Sara could see her friends’ chests rise and fall. There was another noise, Sara looked around. She wanted to find out what it was but she didn’t want to be accountable for letting in a racoon. Suddenly, the scratching noise came again, this time louder and like rough scales gliding on the floor of the cabin. She could have sworn she heard a soft hiss. Sara was scared, she didn’t call Mrs. Hepler because she didn’t want to humiliate herself (Mrs. Hepler was one of the camp counselors). She sat up and she bumped her head on the bunk bed (Jenny got the top bunk). In the morning, Sara told Chloe about the noises last night. “I think you were hallucinating, it was late after all,” said Chloe. Sara wanted to believe her but couldn’t.
