Chapter Fourteen

Alina sat in English class, listening happily to Mrs Webb as she told them hilarious stories. Mrs Webb was Alina's favorite teacher, but she wasn't just soft and friendly. She was also clever. She foumd ways to teach without the pupils even realising they were learning. With a grin, she remembered the first lesson with her. They had all trooped miserably into the classroom, looking slightly like sad dogs. Five minutes later, they had been laughing their heads off.

Mrs Webb was currently telling them about a teacher she had had at her school. Apparently, he had exploded into the classroom, then sat on a desk. He only realised ten minutes later that he had been sitting on chocolate bar.

Mrs Webb paused in her story and picked up her blue coffee cup. She brushed her tufty blonde hair out of her face with smooth movement, then took a sip. A second later, she collapsed on the floor. The cup fell to the ground and smashed to pieces on the hard floor. Steaming brown liquid flew across the room.

Silence reigned supreme for a moment or two. And then the screaming started. Everybody was shocked. A teacher had seemingly just died before them. Chaos fell, as pupils screamed and yelled at each other.

Nala stood up. "Be quiet, idiots!" she yelled, as loudly as she could. The quicker we can do something, the more likely she is to... Be okay." She turned to James. "Quickly." she said. "Run and bring the school nurse."

Without pausing to think, James pelted out of the room and a fee minutes later, Mrs Webb's stretcher was being lifted into an ambulance. Alina knew there was ony one person who could be responsible for this, and she looked around, searching for him in the crowd that had gathered. Sure enough, she spotted him. He didn't even have the grace to look upset or the least bit guilty.

Alina hated him. She really did.
