Chapter Three
Nefree Acalah swam full speed towards her massive Lusus. Bubbles swarmed around her as she moved gracefully. In her hand she held a golden mace. Her short ebony hair flowed around her shoulders as she swam. Her colorful clothes hugged her gray skin. She swam towards her Lusus, Gl'bgolyb. Nefree must keep Gl'bgolyb happy and calm at all times. Otherwise, the massive Lusus would call out for her, causing worldwide destruction and death. As long as the giant ball of spaghetti doesn't speak above a whisper, all will be well.
Nefree's gray irises darted upwards, noticing the bright, Alternian moon was rising. Xaiqui helps Nefree keep her Lusus under control, so she wasn't surprised to see another figure swimming above her. She could see the bands of gold around his limbs shine from the reflection of moon. A silhouette of a large whale moved in the distance. Xaiqui pistoned forward, his crossbow held tightly in his hands. You spot Xaiqui's Lusus swimming not too far from you. You can see its fur rippling under the water and his scales shining. Some people would consider the violet bloods' Lusus a little strange. The top half looks like a normal Barkbeast but the lower half has extravagant scales to make out a beautiful tail of a fish.
She heard a roar of pain. A purple color tints the water as she saw Xaiqui drag the fresh kill towards the direction of her Lusus. A long, spindly tentacle reaches from the depths of the ocean the holds the fuchsia blood. Nefree smiles and laughs slightly, bubbles flowing from her mouth and gills.
The two seadwellers could hear the whispers of thanks come from the ancient beast as it dragged the kill to its depths. The highblooded pair swam towards each other, Nefree thanking Xaiqui and Xaiqui accepting the praise.
"Nefree. We have to talk." Xaiqui said, swimming back up towards the sandy shore. Nefree followed, adjusting her shirt as she climbed up onto the cool sand. She could feel the soft sand slip between her toes. She smiled at the violet blood that stood before her. He didn't look too pleased. He almost looked angered.
"Nefree. I want you to stay the hell away from my moirail." Xaiqui growled out, taking an intimidating step towards the heiress. Nefree looked shocked, a little scared even. "Xaiqui?" "I'm tired of watching you two fawn over each other. How many times will I have to tell you that he. Is. MINE." Xaiqui snarled, the volume of his voice growing with every word. Xaiqui advanced on her, preparing on capturing her in a tackle.
Nefree shrieked and darted away, diving back into the water. The salty liquid sprayed back up into Xaiqui's face. Xaiqui glowered and stormed away back to his hive.
A flowery scent wafted through the air. A large, dark silhouette stood on a hill not too far away. Yellow eyes glowed in the moon light, before it walked away.
