Chapter One
Merkus Xetrea sat in his respite block infront of his husktop, waiting for his Moirail to respond. The flickering screen was the only thing that brought light in the dark room. The only noises that Merkus could hear are the soft breeze from outside and his own fast-paced breathing breathing. His gray-skinned hand ran through his dark hair. His fuchsia eyes swirled with panic and uncertainty.Merkus wanted - no, needed his Moiral to come to his hive for a feelings jam. Merkus usually has horrible dayterrors, but the latest one had him reeling. It was the brutal death of his flushcrush.
Merkus' psionics are powerful. But with power, comes consequence. As long as his power exists, he will have visions of how his loved ones, along with the people around him, will die. These visions usually come as daymares.
Finally, the loud, cheerful DING resonated from his husktop. Relief flooded his as he saw the aubergine colored text that read "Be over in a moment" A sigh left his lips, his body relaxed somewhat, knowing his beloved Moirail would be with him in a moment.
The gold-blooded troll tensed again, remembering that the sun was still high in the sky. His Moirail would have a high chance of being injured. His head reeled with the amount of worried thought that passed through it. His breath resumed its fast paced heaving. He gripped his hair tightly, being sure to avoid the vibrant orange horns that grew from the top of his head.
Merkus heard the sound of his hive's door opening. "Merkus? Ya here?" a voice called out. The gold-blooded troll toppled noisily from his chair and dashed down the steps. The pads of his feet hit the wooden floor boards with loud, echoing thuds.
When he reached the bottom of the steps, he saw his purple blooded Moirail. His short, ebony hair framed his softly freckled face. Short, curved horns poked out on the side of his head, right infront of his fins. A white shirt hugged their torso and his shorts stopped above his knees. Gold bands wrapped around his calves and forearms. His gray irises looked upon Merkus with fondness. He opened his arms "Bring it in, Mer-mer."
Merkus drifted into the seadweller's arms, wrapping his own tightly around their torso. Gold tinted tears threatened to spill from the lowblood. The purple blood ran a hand through his hair, shooshing him. "Its okay, let it out. I'm here" he whispered in his ear.
