Hurt
I've just finished folding the clothes once they're dry. Now, all I have to do is wash the dishes and take my walk. I gently scrub the ceramic plates and bowls with organic soap, then, I dry them with an all-natural towel. When I'm done, I take off my shoes and put on hiking boots. It's part of the fitness regimen that every child in this town takes a walk at 3:00 in the afternoon.I step outside and follow the line of kids walking down the street. We reach the bay, and we all walk next to seaweed-covered rocks. A few men are fishing. After the bay, we head to the cliffs. It's a steep walk up a dirt path, and once we reach the top, we must step carefully on a series of ledges. We are protected from falling by the rope walls holding us in.
I'm halfway across the ledges when I stumble. I'm concentrating so hard on Miracle that I don't step across the gap between the ledges in time. I slip and fall to the side. The ropes hold me for a second before snapping and I fall, fall, fall. I flail. I look down and see the rushing stream below coming up to meet me.
Before losing consciousness, I feel the frigid waters squeeze me tightly.

I try to open my eyes, but they seem swollen shut. I'm lying on something soft - a bed. I can't move my arms or legs. I hear people bustling around and talking. Someone is bending over me - I can sense their presence and feel their warm breath on my stomach. My stomach must be bare. Something cold and metal presses against my chest. The person bending over me mutters something and the metal thing is removed. I hear the noise of a pen scribbling on paper.
A machine beeps next to me. It beeps again. The noises continue, periodically.
Where am I? Based on the beeping, machines, soft bed, cold metal, and notepad scribbles, I'd say I'm in the doctor's office. Is Miracle here? I hardly ever see her. I try to move, but once again, I can't.
I feel someone's presence above me again. They click their tongue and speak. "She's in a coma." The voice is male.
Another person speaks. It's a female. "Sad... was it from her fall?"
The man talks once more. "Yes. She can still feel pain, so I should give her medicine." A needle pokes into my arm. I try to open my mouth and yell, but my mouth doesn't move.
I drift off to sleep...
