An informational book that covers the many types of WB and the cures. If you are struggling with WB, then I am really, really sorry. Maybe this book will help you.

Type 3

This type is one of the most straightforward -- although unfortunate -- types of WB. It usually comes after reading an amazing book that you didn't write. A bit more explanation is necessary... Well, here are the symptoms.
-refusing to write since you're obviously terrible
-comparing you writing to that of Suzanne Collins and wondering why you even bother
-comparing your work to every author ever
-hating your writing
-burning every book you've ever written
-giving up

Ugh. I HATE this type of WB. And I also hate my own writing. I mean... Admit it. I am nowhere near as awesome of an author as R. C. Lewis. But I guess that I kinda have to finish this, soo... Cures.
-time
-hot chocolate
-music
-motivation from friends
-motivation from family
-motivation from chocolate

And, on a final note: DO NOT re-read any of your old stories. It will make you hate them. Put space between you and every book ever when this WB pops up.

As a matter of fact... *disappears*

I often experience WB. It's extremely irritating. I believe type six would be the one I get the most often. I have commitment issues >.< I don't really compare myself to other writers (although I often feel like rewriting some of my stories, even if they're not finished yet.) Sometimes lacking ideas is one influence. Most of the time, I know what I want to happen See More
