Getting Started

         First, you should start with your OC's tribe. Pick your favorite tribe. Do not let anyone tell you that it is overused and make fun of you for liking what other people like. Then you should create a name; this is my favorite part. Your name should be unique, don't steal anyone else's OC name, even if you really like it.
Don't feel pressured to change it though, if you see someone else already picked the name you've chosen; it's almost impossible to find a completely original name. Before you decide on anything, google if you name is cannon. Don't make an OC that's already a character in the book. However, if it's a family member of an OCs name you're trying to find, a character in the book that only shows up once COULD be ok. You should also decide your characters gender before you decide things like mates.
