New House
NOTE: I got the idea for this story from the website scaryforkids.com, but I wrote the story myself. There was an adventurous teenager named Jack whose family moved to a new house. The house sat on many acres of land, and it looked like it would be fun to explore, so one day, Jack went out to explore. He wandered around the land for a long time until he came to a ravine. At the bottom, he could see a rushing river, and jagged rocks poking up every few feet in the water.
"Cool!" Jack thought, so he made his way down to the bottom of the ravine. He edged along the small strip of dry land that ran along the river. He'd only gone a few feet when he saw something in the distance moving towards him. When he walked up to get a closer look, he gasped in horror. It was a bloody and bloated creature, dragging itself along the bank. Jack was terrified, but his fear froze him to the spot.
The thing got within a few feet of Jack and began making a weird noise. When Jack listened carefully, he could make out what the creature was trying to say: "Help.... me......"
Jack felt odd. Something was wrong, and he knew it. "But what if it's someone who really needs help?" he thought to himself. However, his fear got the better of him, so he grabbed a large rock and brought it down on the creature's skull again and again until the thing stopped groaning and lay still. Jack shuddered and kicked it into the water, watching as it washed away.
But when Jack turned and started back the way he came, he slipped, and fell into the water. The rushing rapids tore at his body, scraping him on the rocky floor. Jack was slammed against the sharp rocks protruding from the ground; they stabbed his stomach and pierced his skin. He couldn't get a breath of air until he finally managed to grab the shore and pull himself up.
He was lying there, bleeding onto the bank, when he spotted a figure climbing down into the ravine. "Dad?" he thought, but as he watched it start walking towards him, he found that it wasn't an adult, but rather a kid about his age. He began painfully dragging himself towards the person, in the hopes that they'd be able to help him. When the figure saw him, it paused, but then went in for a closer look. As the person got even closer, Jack realized that it was HIM. "No, it can't be..." he thought, but it had the same hair, build, face, and even outfit that Jack wore that day. The figure stopped within a few feet of Jack.
Jack managed to open his swollen mouth and work up the courage to speak. "Help.... me......" he moaned. The person seemed to ponder this, but as it bent down to pick something up, it dawned on Jack what was happening. He didn't even have time to move before the figure brought the rock down on his head.
