May McDonald's Tale

May McDonald is a sweet, intelligent, and caring vegetarian girl who lives in a quaint stone cottage in Scotland. She has one deaf brother named Leo Peter, some chickens, five cats, two dogs, and some mice. But when May's OCD takes a form that threatens her well-being, and Leo's deafness causes him to shut down and stay in his room, May is forced to deal with this new stress - and the way she chooses is memorable. NOTE: This was one of the first stories I wrote on Qfeast, so I did this when I was 11. That's why it's not that good of a story. I just wanted to publish it, though, because eh, some parts (SOME PARTS, not ALL PARTS) are well written, and you guys can all have a good laugh about how bad it is.

Shut Down

I am just opening my eyes in the morning when I hear a crash coming from down the hall. I pop up, like bread from a toaster, and fall onto the floor. While I'm getting up, I hear a slam from the same direction. The only room down there is Leo's.
I slip on some fluffy socks and pull on leggings. The next step is a purple shirt, and after that I have to put on slippers. Once I'm all dressed, I slip out of my room and tiptoe down the hall to Leo's door frame. From inside his room is coming stomping and crashing. I knock once before remembering that he can't hear. I open his door without thinking and am shocked to see, instead of a rabid, sweaty Leo that's frothing at the mouth, Leo sitting on his bed. He stomps the floor occasionally, but his face is blank and his arms hang limply over the sides of his bed. "Um... Leo?" I ask tentatively.
Leo grunts and doesn't move. My face creases as I worry for him. I go to the side of his bed and grasp his hand. "Leo? What's wrong?"
"What's wrong?" He asks, shooting up. "Ha, um, I'm kind of deaf! That's what's wrong!"
I frown and back away. "I was just trying to he-"
He pushes me away and pins me to the wall. "Help. My. Eye. I hate you, you little know it all!" And with that, he grabs my arm and throws me out of his room.
