World of Colour

The world was black and white, all the colours were drained. Max was never quite sure what colours were, with everything being drab shades of gray. The only colour she ever saw was gray. Sometimes, she thought it was only her. Sometimes she thought she was the only one who couldn't see colours. But she was like everyone else, blind to colours. Well, that is until she met 'the one'
The tales were that once someone met their soulmate, they'd see a world filled with gorgeous colours.
And Max was thrilled with the idea of not having to go through heart break over and over again. She loved the idea of one person being born to be with them.
Max was out, just sitting in the park after school, as per usual. She looked up from the book that was lain across her legs. She saw a boy standing a few yards from where she sat. He looked at her with crimson eyes with shock and excitement. Colours bled into Max's world. Every oriface had colour, except the boy. His shirt and pants were shades of gray. His skin was pale, as pale as paper. His hair was even whiter, more pure that snow. The only colour that was on his body was his crimson eyes and the red blood that flushed his cheeks and ears.
Max's heart pounded in her chest, realization dawning on her. Her cheeks flushed as she gave a shy smile towards the boy. He hesitantly stepped forward, sitting infront of Max.
Max could've sworn this guy was taller. He hardly looked any taller than five feet, while Max stood almost an entire foot above him. "Uh, hey." he greeted awkwardly, more of that beautiful red coming to flood his cheeks. "My name's Sibuna."
Max smiled, what an odd name, not like Max could say anything, "My name is Maxima. Preferably Max."
The grass of gorgeous greens swayed around them, flowers of yellow and white scattered throughout the blades. Birds of reds and blues and browns chirped around them, giving the atmosphere life. The sky was blue and wisps of clouds could be spotted as the wind gently pushed them on.
The two sat in a comfortable silence, neither sure what to say. Yet it was almost as if they never needed to say anything. Sibuna's pale hand reached forward, bringing Max's hand into his own. Their fingers entwined. And everything felt right in the world.
