Ancestor's Pride
Cana stood on a small stage in her palace, gowned in a new dress, a sparkling silver sword in hand. She smiled happily as she gazed at the crowd of people. It was just like the day when she'd been crowned princess. Though Sonata wasn't in the crowd this time. She glanced back as a man dressed in white and gold approached her. Many of the citizens recognized just who this man was.
Murmurs of "Dressed in rags or royal's clothes, a peasant is still a peasant" were passed around the hundreds of people watching Cana. She clapped her hands to silence them, then turned to face the handsome man.
"When I first saw this young man, I knew there was something special about him. But I couldn't exactly tell what. He looked like an ordinary man. But he was so much more. This is the one who saved me. His bravery and humble figure is what I've always admired."
Sonata kneeled before Princess Cana as she raised her sword and softly placed it over the blonde's shoulder.
"Rise, Sonata. Or as I should call you, Prince Stamenovic II!"
The crowd erupted into applause.
Nobody noticed what was hiding behind one of the decorated pillars. The ghost of the first Prince Stamenovic stood there, hands around the hilt of his sword. His face curved into a gentle smile as tears of joy slipped from the corners of his closed eyes.
