Dis part 2: HADES'S WRATH

Dis part 2: HADES'S WRATH

GUARANTEED TERRIFYING...our very creepy underworld adventure. I might possibly get injured...someone might die. Scary, huh?

Scream

My scream resounded off the desolate wastes of the fields of Asphodel, making wandering iridescent spirits shrink from my pain. My crouched figure sent a long, dark shadow over the black sand, another shade of black in the ever-deepening darkness. The Underworld seemed to laugh at my yell, rejoicing at the hurt of another hero, stupid enough to walk into its black embrace, proud enough to think that they could ever overcome...

"Gosh, Annabeth, you didn't have to step on my foot that hard!" I groan, clutching at my black rainboot. I test my foot tentatively on the black sand. "I'm okay now. Let's keep moving."
I set off again, walking towards the forbidding black palace of Hades. Annabeth catches up with me at a run.
"Sorry!" She murmurs sheepishly. I shrug.
"Really, it's okay. " I laugh, searching her blue-grey eyes, so like mine, for her thoughts. They were different than they usually were. Where there once was a swirling grey stormcloud, the fog had cleared and her eyes are calm and pale blue. I see it, like I've seen it so many times before. A shiver runs up my spine. She's going to rant about--
"The last time I was here was with Percy." She begins, heaving a romantic sigh. I groan.
"Y'know, Annabeth, you can be really annoying sometimes. But I would still take an arrow for you." I say, smiling.
She shuts up.
I fall back to walk beside Ajax, who seems to be deep in thought. "Has anyone planned what we're going to do when we get there?" I ask.
"Wha-what? Sorry, I wasn't listening." He admits, looking away from me and out at the forbidding dark palace looming ahead.
"I said, is there a plan?"
He laughs. "No way is there a plan. We're just going to, uh, wing it." He says sarcastically.
I cross my arms. "Well, if there was a plan, I thought you would be the one with it." I retort.
"What about you, 'child of wisdom'?" He shoots back.
I laugh in spite of myself."Thanks for the COMPLIMENT!" I yell before speeding up to walk with Annabeth. Even endless Percy stories are better than Ajax.
