are cell phones dangerous
Are cell phones dangerous? A common question. Many people think cell phones are great. Texting, internet access, and not having to write a letter to a friend or relative by hand. However, there are still other people who think cell phones are dangerous. Scientist say cell phones may cause cancer, eyestrain, short – term memory loss, headaches, blurred vision, etc. due to constant cell phone usage. So, who is right? Well, in my opinion cell phones are more so dangerous than useful. This persuasive essay will be discussing my personally beliefs on this issue. One of the reasons cell phones are dangerous, is the way they affect our health. Jon Marksmen says there have been scientific studies on thirty-five men and thirty-five woman who used there cell before going to bed. The results show that when you use your cell phone before going to bed you actually shorten or delay the deep sleep your brain and body needs to repair themselves. Further studies have shown that kids and teenagers who use there cell phones late at night could develop the following symptoms : depression, mood swings, personally changes, as well as other ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder) symptoms.
As well as being a danger to our health, cell phones are also a threat to the environment. Scientist say that cell phones that are not disposed of properly are harmful to the environment. According to scientist cell phones are full of toxic metals. Some of these metals are mined copper, lead, zinc, nickle, mercury, antimony, and cadmium. When a cell phone is thrown away and taken to a dump these metals are released into the air, causing air pollution.
Another way cell phones affect us is mentally and emotionally. In movies you see parents that are doing something with their children but then their cell phones rings. They quickly grab their cell phones, leaving their children and spend hours on the phone. That is pretty sad but the saddest part is it does not just happen in movies, it happens in real life. There are times you see people who have sat down to have a meal with someone then they pull out their phone and start texting or talking to some else on the phone. Between our health and the health of the environment cell phones are very destructive, but one way I personally think there even more so destructive in, is our relationships with our friends and family.
Although cell phones may be some what useful, many people still believe in this case the bad out weights the good. These people do not believe that constant cell phone use really worth the risks. It makes a person wonder, are cell phones really worth the possibility of having health issues, putting the environment danger, or even losing out on a good strong relationship? I think if we can't use cell phones responsively then we shouldn't use them at all.
