The Devil's Door
Going to the funeral was sad. I had to wear my best black dress and my Grandma drove me there. She kept telling me that she would've took me but she has a lot on her hands since Grandpa died. As my parents and Brooke were buried I put three roses on each of there coffins. Then I whispered these words " I love you and I hope you have a good time in heaven", then I started crying again. Thats when I went back to my house and got my things ready for Aunt Margaret's house. Sighing sadly at the pictures of my family I continued to keep on packing. As I was looking under the bed for things I saw a gray blur of something. Grabbing whatever it was it let out a small meow. I patted Misty's back then continued to keep on packing. Once I was finished packing I carried all my things down to Grandma's van, carrying Misty with me not letting her escape. As we pulled out of the drive way I looked back at the house, and remembered all the happy memories I had there. The night when we and Brooke stayed up till 4 in the morning, making cookies with Mom, practicing soccer with Dad, and finding Misty on our doorstep. Since I was so busy day-dreaming I didn't hear what my Grandma has asked. She asked me again "Kayla are you excited?" Not wanting to make her change her mind I said "Yah I'm really excited, can't wait to see Caleb and Shelton." In case you didn't know Caleb and Shelton were my annoying cousins but we act nice around each other not to get in trouble. As Grandma pulled into Aunt Margaret's driveway I was prepared for the worst thing that could've ever happened to me.
