Meet Domanic

I lock the door to my room and stay in there, crying. That is, until I hear a knock on my door.
"Jackie? You okay? It's Sapphire."
"And Alexis!"
"Can you let us in?" Sapphire asks.
"Okay... I guess," I reply, unlocking the door.
Sapphire and Alexis enter the room, with Alexis closing the door behind her.
"You know, I was like you when I first heard the news," Sapphire tells me. She shows me a picture of her family from 5 years ago, which only brings more tears to my eyes. "It's common to feel how you feel now."
We then hear my window slam shut. I walk over to see who did it, but no one is there.
"Jackie! Behind you!"
I look around and a purple hedgehog has a knife at my throat.
"So you are the famous Jackie, come to save Mobius, huh?" he says. "I am Domanic, the master thief of Mobius."
I look at Alexis who smirks and mutters "Except for Rouge" under her breath.
"Where is Sapphire?" Domanic asks. So I turn to face the door, and I see her.
"Right here," she says, and behind her stand the boys.
"Causing trouble Dom?" Sonic approaches first, followed by the other boys.
And they're all ready for action.

"You haven't seen the last of me!" Domanic cries as he jumps out the window.
"He's creepy," I say, quivering in fear. "Is he..."
"A guy who works for Eggman? Yep," Sonic replies. "I'm off. I need some fresh air." And at that, he runs out of my room.
"Thanks for telling us, Sapphire," Silver says to Sapphire. "If we didn't know, poor Jackie would be a goner."
The boys all exit and its just me, Sapphire and Alexis.
"Hey Jackie, I think it's time you knew the other girls," Alexis says to me.
"Yeah," Sapphire adds. "We can arrange a sleepover!"
The two go downstairs to prepare this sleepover, so I sit on my bed alone.
Then I hear someone singing.

"We're in the crowd,
We're coming out,
Got my flash on, it's true.
I need a picture of you!"

It sounds familiar.
I look out the window and I see Sonic in the garden. I never knew he had an iPod.
And he's singing the very song my mother taught me when I was young.
It's my favourite song in the world.
Paparazzi.
I rush out to the garden to see him. "Nice song," I tell him.
He takes out his earphones and looks at me. "What song?"
"That song you were singing."
"Oh. Right. That," he says. "You heard it huh?"
"My mother and I always sang it when I was young," I tell him. "I used to be afraid of thunderstorms. Whenever there was one she used to hug me and we would sing that song."
"Nice," he replies. "Hey, you wanna sing with me?"
"I bet I could beat you in a contest," I challenge him.
"Whoa you're feisty! Bring it on then!"
