Christmas
When we got to the station I didn't know what I expected but it wasn't this. To sum it all up, the butler took our stuff and drove us to Malfoy Manner, Draco's mom chatted with us and talked to us in a motherly way, and it was a long drive to their house. When we got there, their house wasn't what I expected either. I thought it would be like their hair, white. Instead, a lot of their rooms had art work and were decorated in green and silver. All in all, it was a beautiful house. We were lead to our room. It was a huge room with two queen beds, a fireplace, a small sitting area, and a bathroom. The bathroom was just as big and connected to a closet. Since we were going to be here for a week and a half, we decided to hang our clothes in there. It hardly filled up any space.Draco came in and told us that his mom wanted him to show us the house. We walked around. There were some guest bedrooms, a pool, a couple sitting rooms, the kitchen, two studies, some bathrooms, and the living room.
The next thing I knew it was Christmas. Draco, Jessica, and I were opening up our presents like we had a million to get through and hardly any time to do it. Finally there were two left. They were for Jessica and me. We each started to open ours but I stopped when I heard Mrs. Malfoy say, "For when you are here in the summer." I stopped and looked at Malfoy. He shrugged and then couldn't suppress his smirk any longer. I turned back to the gift. Once it was open there were two amazingly cute summer dresses. I opened them up next to Jessica's and then opened the card.
It read: Dear Taylor, Thank you for coming this Christmas. I hope you enjoy your stay and want to come back because I will be here with open arms. If you are looking for the next part of the gift, I would check you closet. Jessica and I turned and looked at each other with puzzled faces. We got up and walked to our closet. Did I say walked? We practically ran there. When we pulled open the doors we found the once empty room full or clothes. Jeans, skirts, shirts, jackets, dresses, shoes, and anything else you can imagine. It was amazing and I wanted to cry.
Later that night I was taking a walk when I stumbled upon Mr. Malfoy's study. I could hear Mr. and Mrs. Malfoy arguing inside. Not knowing what to do, I stopped and listened. "I don't know why you are so against it! They don't have anyone!" It was Mrs. Malfoy. "Because I don't see the point in spending money on children that aren't ours. We don't even know if they are mudbloods." I shuddered at his words. I wasn't used to the way his words rolled together and he made them sound like a snake. "I've checked it out with Dumbledore. Their mom died just after the birth and their dad is still alive." she said. I suddenly got more interested in this conversation even more. "Do I want to know the parents?" he asked. "No. But I'm going to tell you. Their dad is Severus Snape." I stood there, glued to the ground. I didn't hear what happened next until Mrs. Malfoy rounded the corner and ran into me. "How much did you hear?" She asked. She didn't sound angry, just concered.
She lead me first to the kitchen where she fixed me some water and a slice of cake and then to a sitting room. "Are you ok?" She asked. I nodded then said, "Thank you. Can I ask you something?" She nodded for me to continue. "Does it matter that Snape is my father?" Her eyes got wide. "Of course not. At least not to me." She pulled me into a hug and just let me sit there. "Can I tell you something?" I asked again. She opened her eyes and looked down into my eyes. "I've never thought any of this could come true. I've always wanted a mother and a family and everything you have given me. I appreciate it even though I'm not your child." I finished. There were so many other things I needed to tell her but I couldn't find the words. "Taylor, look at me. I'm a mother. Not just to Draco but to anyone who needs me. That's what a mother is. I'm always going to be here for you."
We sat there for awhile just talking about ourselves but mainly me. She wanted to get to know me. What my favorite colors are, my favorite food, what I want to be. Anything I wanted to talk about. We talked for hours until I was too tired to keep my eyes open. She walked me back to my room to sleep. Even though I was terribly tired, I couldn't get to sleep, my mind was too busy thinking.
