The ball
She wandered aimlessly through the crowded ballroom, looking at the twirling couples on the dance floor every now and then. She loved to dance but, she hadn't found a partner so she wandered hoping someone would ask her. She was to shy to ask a guy to dance. Darn my shyness. she curses under her breath, stopping to stand in the corner of the room, looking down into her punch glass. She was only here as a maid to her mistress who had business to discuss with the Earl Phantomhive which, unfortunately, did not concern her at the moment. She had already offered to help the other servants who politely declined saying she was their guest which was kind, but not what she wanted to hear at the moment. She noticed a girl with blonde hair standing next to the Earl. Elizabeth? No, she's taller than Elizabeth, and Ciel looks like he's having a good time. Wait, there's Elizabeth, dancing with Trancy. That's Selena, the one with Ciel. Selena is Elizabeth's twin. She let outa heavy sigh, knowing Ciel would want to be with her instead of mistress. Wait, where was mistress? Was she taken away? Is she lost in the crowd? All this had gone to her head and the ball was nearly over when she felt a tug at her dress. "Are you all right?" The girl asked. Wait this was Elizabeth. " Yes," she replied with a knowing smile. "Ok, the ball is nearly over, and people are starting to leave, " Elizabeth smiled back. "Thank you," I thanked. Maybe she was outside waiting for me, she thought, she walked outside to see mistress crying. "Ciel likes her, not me" she cried. "Is this the 'buisness' you had to attend?" She said. she can be a real brat sometimes she thought. She sighs slightly irritated by her mistress's immature behavior but, picks her up to comfort her anyway. She scolds her gently, "Alexandria, what have I told you about pursuing romantic relations with your business associates?" Alexandria sniffles in return, "I know C-Celestina but-" "Well that settles it then." She dries Alexandria's tears with a gloved hand. "Please dry your tears milady, you know it pains me to see you cry." She puts her hands on either side of Alexandria's face. "Now show the world the brave face of the Fernandez household." Alexandria gives a weak smile. "And no more courting that murderous guard dog." She nearly hisses being a demon of the cat as Alexandria giggles. "But I like dogs, even if it is but a puppy" "Baah, such filthy creatures with petty loyalties cats do as they please" Celestina says, in her heavily accented voice. "Now go." She says, ushering Alexandria toward the ballroom doors. "Where are all the people?" Alexandra asked, "The ball is nearly over, if you would stop crying and dance, the ball wouldn't seem so short," she replied. All of a sudden Alexandria was in a conversation with Earl Trancy. Alexandria started to laugh when Ciel came over to chat, walking right past Trancy like he was ignoring him. Halfway over to where I was standing, he slightly turned and scowled, but Trancy just glared. " Alexandria rushed out crying whe she saw me, is she alright?" Ciel asked. "Oh, she's just...she...she missed you, and she couldn't...couldn't bring herself to...to...to talk to you," she lied as she glanced over to Alexandria. Ciel slightly smiled. Elizabeth rushed over to Ciel. "I'll see yoh later" Ciel muttered. His butler Sebastian walked over to her...
