When i was first able to open my eyes i saw my mother looking down at me she gently picked me up by the scruff of the neck with her teeth she put me back down next to my brothers and sisters, who were still un-able to see, when i had been put down she gave me three big licks there was shuffling outside the door of my home three me came in with another pregnant dog who was put in a cramped box next to ours my mother went over to the side of our box and peered over the wood that separated us her nose twitched as she did so she came back and curled up and all of us snuggled up next to her we were all warm and cozy and i started to doze off, after a while i awakened when my mother stood up i followed her she started growling, i looked up one of the men had come back in he came into our box with my mother barking at him now he grabbed me by the scruff of the neck but unlike my mother it hurt when he did it i whimpered and my mother bit his arm, my mother was a staffy and her jaw locked on his arm
