Chapter 1:

I sat in my desk reading the news. "Two men found, one dead policeman, one injured crimanal. Only evidence is 2 letters..." I read aloud. "Nathan, does it sound familiar?" I asked right when he came in. He poured me some tea, smirking. I contended reading. "Two men, master? I thought there was one." He commented. I smirked, setting the newspaper on my desk. "I came across some difficulties with the police and had to defend myself. I guess they don't appreciate people doing the work for them." I sighed, getting up.
"We have some guests soon, don't we? I believe we need to get ready!" I stated. "The meal is ready, master." Nathan stated. I nodded, walking out of the office. I got the game ready. "Is everything else ready?" I asked. He nodded, standing tall. "All we need is the guests then!" I stated, turning back to my office.
After a bit, I heard the footsteps. I looked up from the paper to see a tall, blond man in a fancy suit. You could tell he was trying not to laugh. "Is there something wrong? I could arrange to meet at different terms." I asked, reaching for my quill. "N-no, I just wasn't expecting to see-" "A child, I know. I hear it often." I interrupted. "Sit down. Before we discuss, I like to play a game. It's easier for me to get to know who I'm negotiating with." I invited.
You could tell he was shocked. I showed him the table, sitting down. Brushing my reddish black hair out of the way, I sat down on the opposite side of him.
"The rules are simple; don't die. Whatever space you land on the fate happens. Each piece is like chess, the setup the same. Ready?" I asked. He nodded, unsure of what was happening. He examined the board. "I suggest you go first, your the guest of this house." I implied. He moved his pawn a space forward."One question: what is the objective?" He asked, studying my face. "Simple, don't die." I awnsered. I moved mine two.
The game went on, none of us landing on a fate square. After a while, the man finally did. "You had your arm and leg torn off by the wolves." I informed. "C-can I get them back?" He asked. Classic question. "What is lost can not be gained back." Classic awnser.
I finally won, then discussed business after dinner. "Stay the night, once you leave its to late to change your mind." I implied. He nodded, going to the guest room.
Funny, this morning he was missing, with a blood trail outside my house.
