Magic
She looked impatiently, expectantly, at me. I had no idea what to say to her. Should I tell her the truth? Or should I make up some lie? I wasn’t sure. I decided to tell her the truth. But the question was, would she believe me? I doubted it. If I were Elizabeth, I wouldn’t believe myself.“Well… you see, it’s rather complicated. I don’t understand it myself,” I told her. Then I told her everything. It just poured out of me. Then a strange thing happened. She believed me. I don’t know how or why she believed me. She just did. Maybe it was luck. Or maybe it was something else…. Eyes wide she slowly backed away from me.
“So… you’re from… the future?” she asked staring at me. And then. And then. That moment. That one special moment. The very moment she believed me. The moment she understood my story. The moment I really understood hers. The moment our souls connected, and space-time continuum started. Or maybe it wasn’t’ space-time continuum. Maybe it was something else… like magic.
Our eyes locked. A strange mist swirled around us. The ground tilted. Then everything went black.
