Hello everybody. I am SO sorry that I have not updated in so long!! I feel so bad, but I have the chapter now so…please forgive me!!!
Chapter 3: Acting
Percy’s POV
I sat on the stage of the auditorium as I waited for the rest of my group to arrive. As I sat there, my mind wandered towards the video that Thalia had shown in English. It was a pretty good video in its self, but what I thought made it more interesting was the voice of the girl that she interviewed. It had been the same voice that I had sung the duet with in the car. I know because even though I didn’t see what she actually looked like, (again!) I recognized the angelic voice right off!
When I asked Thalia about who that girl was, she went all tight-lipped and said with no emotion, “I won’t tell you.” When I groaned she added, “It adds to the mystery of the video.”
When Mr. Blofis agreed with her, I slumped in defeat. I had to find out who that girl was! It was absolutely killing me because even if I didn’t know her, I felt like I had a connection with her. Just as I was thinking this, Annabeth came in.
“Hi,” she said tentatively.
“Hi.” I said back. To start a conversation I asked, “So, what did you think of that video Thalia showed today?”
Her eyes widened slightly in response to the question but then turned back to their normal size so quickly that it was hard to tell if I was imagining it or not. “I think it was pretty good. How did you think it was?”
“I thought it was awesome! The girl’s voice was so beautiful!” I replied enthusiastically. I suddenly came up with an idea. “Hey, your best friend is Thalia; do you know who the girl is? Or could you at least ask?” I was so excited to get an answer from her but the second I finished saying my thought, the auditorium doors opened.
“Hi Percy! How are you,” an annoying voice purred. Uhg! I groaned inwardly. I seriously did not like Rachel! I mean, I know she’s really hot and all that crap, but she usually acts like she has something up her ass. Plus, she’s a slut.
I pasted on a smile and hoped it looked convincing. “Hi Rachel. I’m good, how are you?”
“I’m fine, thank you for asking! Hey, is Siranna here yet?”
Suddenly, Annabeth jumped into the conversation. “Her name is Selina, not Siranna. And, do you see her here?” I was kind of shocked about Annabeth’s second sentence because I didn’t know she had it in her, but when it finally sunk in, I started to laugh to myself.
Suddenly, Silena burst in, flustered. “Sorry, I’m late. I didn’t relies the time!”
Rachel glared at her icily. “Well, next time you should relies what time it is! Now that you’re here, we can get started. First, we will read the seen, then we will start to act it out. Let’s get started!” She called. We all moved.

I drove my car into the apartment parking area and turned the engine off. I then got out and stood in the elevator and waited for it to reach floor 6- my destination. When I (finally) reached the door to the apartment I lived in, I unlocked it. I lived with my mom, Sally Jackson, and her husband, (my step-father) Paul Blofis, AKA; my English teacher, Mr. Blofis.
How is that possible you may ask? Well, you see, my family history can get quite complicated. (A/N: Warning, this part of the story is inaccurate, and for that I am quite sorry. Will you forgive me?) It all started when my mom was nine years old. She and her parents were going on trip to China, when the plane that they were on decided that it didn’t want to fly anymore. It crashed-landed and miraculously, she was one of the few survivors. Sadly, her parents were not.
Years later, when she was about twenty-two she went with her friends to Montauk Beach where she camped and had fun. But, not only did she have fun and go camping; she also met the man who would later become my father. His name was Poseidon, and he was a sailor. My mom tells me he was a great man, with a big heart and a pure soul. When they met it was like love at first sight, so of course they hit it off pretty quickly. It was only about three days after they met that they…well, you know…had me… But they didn’t actually know they had me until later.
It was about two weeks later when my mom found out she was with a child and she wanted to tell Poseidon right away, but she couldn’t because he had left two days earlier to deliver a ship-load of something-or-other. It was ok though. She could wait a while longer. After all, he had promised that he would get back to her safely, and she trusted him. But he broke that promise. A few days later, there was news of a wrecked ship in the middle of the ocean. You see, there had been a terrible storm and the wind had blown the ship that my dad was on into a giant bolder that had been jutting out of the water. “It was inevitable” is what the people said. But it didn’t matter that it was not his fault that the ship had been smashed to smithereens. What mattered was that he had broken his promise to my mom. And he was dead.
My mom is a strong woman. She was absolutely heart-broken by the news but she kept on living her life. She gave birth to me all by herself and raised me to be a perfect gentleman (at least to the ladies). She’s smart too, though there was this one time that I thought she was being a little loony. It was when I was about twelve and my mom married this guy named Gabe. At first he was really nice to her but then he turned into a real douchebag! (I called him Smelly Gabe.) He would always be playing poker with his stupid buddies and would always be telling Mom what to do. I think he even hit her a few times. Seriously, just the thought makes my blood boil! Luckily, she divorced him about two years later.
Mom is not only brave and smart, but she is also my hero. She used to work at a candy shop that paid very little. She had to work two part time jobs to keep me fed and to have a roof over my head. She worked so hard for me to be happy when she was not happy. I knew she had always wanted to be an author but she never had time to take any classes or anything. I wanted to change that though, so when I turned sixteen, I started to job-hunt. I finally got a job at a Starbucks a couple blocks down from where I lived and urged my mom to quit one of her part-time jobs to go to a writing class. That is where she met Paul.
He had wanted to make a few extra bucks and decided he could make a writing club. Each person there had to pay a small fee to get in, and thanks to my new job, I could pay for Mom’s. When they met, they felt like they had a connection. So after a couple of months of Paul teaching my mom, he finally had the guts to ask my mom out. To be honest, at first I didn’t really like him. It was not that he was a bad guy, because he’s not but I was (and still am) just a little protective of her. I knew what had happened in her life and I didn’t want her to get hurt again. But he proved to be a good guy. They got married three years later and now my mom is a best-selling author. We are now a big happy family.
At first though, it was kind of awkward because I would have trouble remembering when to call him Mr. Blowfis (at school) and Paul (at home). I don’t really like calling him “dad” because even though he is a father figure towards me, he isn’t my dad. You get what I mean?
So now as I walked through the door to my comfortable home, I called out, “Mom, Paul, I’m home!”
I saw Mom rush out of the kitchen and hug me. “How was your day today sweetie?”
“It was good.”
Paul came out of the living room. “Hi again. How did your drama thing go?”
“Right!” Mom chimed in. “How was it? What did you do?”
“It was fine. We read through the seen and started to practice reciting it.”
“Who is in your group again, honey?” Mom questioned.
“These girls named: Silena and Annabeth. Also Rachel. Annabeth and I are going to be the actors, Silena will be the stylist and prop director, and Rachel is the director. ” I replied.
My mom looked at Paul and then shook her head softly. “Do you think you could ask to switch partners? I don’t like you and Rachel together.”
I was confused. Ever since I had brought Rachel to eat with us (as a friend), my mom hasn’t seemed to like her one bit! I thought she was perfectly fine. “I don’t think we can. Why?”
“Have you not seen what she wears and how she acts? It’s like the whole world revolves around her!” Mom rants. “She is a bad influence on you.” There was a pause. “Now let’s eat dinner, I was making blue cookies before you walked in and I know how you don’t like them as much when they are cold!”

Annabeth’s POV
Almost immediately after I got back from rehearsals and into the house, (apartment) Susan yelled at me, “We’re have you been young lady? I called your cell to see where you were and you didn’t reply!”
“Sorry,” I mumbled. “I thought I told you about having to do a rehearsal for a school project. As for the phone thing, it died.”
“Still, you could have told us you were going to be late. We have been waiting for you for half an hour so we could eat!”
“I said I was sorry!” I said. I then paused for a second. I finally said, “Well I’m here now so let’s just eat.” Susan huffed but walked to the dinner table.
--------------------------------------------
As I was brushing my teeth and brushing my hair, (I have two hands-duh- and can multitask well) my phone rang. With a huff, I put down my hair brush and looked at the caller ID. Thalia. I pressed the answer button and tapped speaker phone. “Hi Thalia,” I greeted, sounding odd since I had tooth paste in my mouth. I promptly spit it out.
“Sup, girlie!” she answered. “We need to talk about the video contest thing. Do you want to do it?”
“I mean, I guess it wouldn’t hurt to do it, right? No one would know it was me and we probably won’t win anyway. There are a lot of other people with really good videos. It would just be a good learning experience. But if we were to win, you would have to split the prize money with me.”
“What? Why?” Thalia whined over the phone.
I rinsed out my mouth and toothbrush before replying. “Because, I did most of the talking (and singing). You only asked some questions and set up the camera.”
“Fine!” She whined grudgingly.
“Ok. Bye, Thalia. See you tomorrow. Oh, and make sure to bring the contest forms too,”
“Yeah, I know. Bye, Annie.”
“Don’t call me Annie!!” I yelled, but it was too late, Thalia had already hung up.
I sighed loudly and left the bathroom to put on my PJs, which consisted of a t-shirt that was three times my size and little boy shorts. Before I climbed into bed though, I turned on my mp3 player, hooked it to my speakers, and pressed play. (A/N: Sorry if that’s not how you do it or if it isn’t even possible, because I have now idea about this kind of stuff!) The song, Lightweight by: Demi Lovato flowed through the speakers, lulling me to a deep sleep…
The slightest words you said
Have all gone to my head
I hear angels sing
In your voice
When you pull me close
Feelings I've never known
They mean everything
And leave me no choice
Light on my heart
Light on my feet
Light in your eyes
I can't even speak
Do you even know
How you make me weak
I'm a lightweight
Better be careful what you say
With every word
I'm blown away
You're in control of my heart
I'm a lightweight
Easy to fall, easy to break
With every move my whole world shakes
Keep me from falling apart
Make a promise, please
You'll always be in reach
Just in case I need
You there when I call
This is all so new
Seems too good to be true
Could this really be
A safe place to fall
Light on my heart
Light on my feet
Light in your eyes
I can't even speak
Do you even know
How you make me weak
I'm a lightweight
Better be careful what you say
With every word
I'm blown away
You're in control of my heart
I'm a lightweight
Easy to fall, easy to break
With every move my whole world shakes
Keep me from falling apart
Keep me from falling down
Drowned in your love
It's almost all too much
Handle with care
Say you'll be there
Oh, I'm a lightweight
Better be careful what you say
With every word
I'm blown away
You're in control of my heart
I'm a lightweight
Easy to fall, easy to break
With every move my whole world shakes
Keep me from falling apart
Keep me from falling apart
Keep me from falling apart
Falling apart
