New Friends
“Everybody out of the hallway, they need peace and quiet” I say as strict as possible and they listen. I like being able to switch from the good kitty to a bad one and people listen. I act as a good kitty so that when I get angry and I give an order, they listen. The only person I wouldn’t do that to would probably be… Akari and Lynx. They are my best friends and I wouldn’t do anything to hurt them.
I enter the room with Akari still sobbing and Lynx unconscious. “How is he,” I ask precautious.
“…He is ok…,” She finally gets out. Lynx twitches at the sound of her cry. Her and Lynx are connected in a way I can’t describe but in a way that they can feel each other’s pain. The doctor comes in the room and picks up a chart. He looks at Akari then at me and as he walks over to Lynx she looks up.
“Is he… ok,” she asks hoping for a good answer.
“He has an infection in this wound here,” he points to a bandaged hole in the body, “It will take all of my power to make him better, but otherwise it’s useless,” he says sorrowfully. “Then USE all your power and help my friend,” Akari screams with anger in her voice.
“It is impossible for me to do so, I don’t have enough strength in me to heal these kinds of wounds… I’m sorry I wish I could, truly,” The Doctor says. “There is a way to heal the infection and close the wound, BUT it’s a suicide mission and I don’t even know if the legend is true,” He says while trying not to get our hopes up. I walk over to him and butt in, “What is the legend?” I ask excitedly.
“The legend is of a willow tree inside an inactive volcano, ”He looks at me then Akari, “It also says that it grows seeds that give life to anyone that swallows it,” he states.
“Tell me Doc, how is it a suicide mission?” I ask him.
“There are two reasons, one the volcano could erupt if you set foot on it, two the legend also states that there is a dragon that gave its life to that tree so it might try to protect its seeds,” He says worryingly.
“Thank you so much for your help,” I turn to Akari and look her in the eye, “I will get those seeds for you… no matter what,” I state confidently.
I exit the room and head back to the quest board. I also see that the new kid is there looking for something to do. “You want a real mission or what?” I ask demandingly.
“Hell yeah I do, what are we doing?”
“We’re going inside a volcano!”
