Ch. 5 Time to leave

I know I have to leave now, I have to find my old house and the last place I remember.  this time I get out of the tree easily.  Slowly and quietly i walk in the shadows hoping no one sees me.  I walk into my house and plop on the bed, my body aches and stings.  I wake up the next morning feeling horrible.  I walk to science class,  the science class is filled with weird jars filled with plants and chemicals, All we do in science class is mess with chemicals until we create something, If we create something good we earn some extra money.  We dont really use money and the only things you can buy with money anymore is other cool inventions people come up with, thats how I got my skin and eyes tinted purple.  I walk in and sit next to felix. " Hi Aura" he says. "Hey, i didnt know we had science together?" I stutter as i look into his eyes." Today I want to make something Amazing" I say." Im going to combine Genetics!" I exclaim.  I want to have a pet as I take my trip.  I grab a vile of cat dna and put it under a microscope, I see the chromosomes and put the dna under a scanner. we have scanners that can identify chromosomes and which of them represent the eye color the legs and everything. I take a vile of falcon dna and do the same . I add the dna of the wings into the cat dna and tint them purple, I make the cats fur purple and improve the voice box.  I add the new dna into the genetic creator and wait.  I hope this works, no  one else has ever attempted to mix genetics with two different animals.  Im surprised of what I see, I see a purple egg!everyone in my class huddles around me and watches."will it hatch?" another classmate says. everyone mumbles. *crack* the egg starts opening, A pitch black face pops out. Its an adorable cat! the cat comes out and everyone watches, Its pitch black with big green eyes and purplish black wings.  when science was over I went home, I packed quikley, I brought clothes, rope, my art supplies, a couple genetic analyzers, and some blankets. The sky was pink and orange, almost night, I cant leave until dark. I sit on my bed with my cat bird thing, its adorable and i will name it meow. I lay there for a while almost ready to leave when i hear a knock at the door.  "who is it?"I yell. "its felix, can I come in?" He replies. "well actually this is not a good time i Have to go somewhere later" I wait an hour until i think hes gone and walk outside.  I go to a dark spot where theres a tree close by, I swing my rope at the tree until its secure. I swing to the tree not crashing like the first time, I try to take the rope with me but i cant reach it. I climb down touching the solid earth, meow is following close behind me.
