Lost in the Dark

Lost in the Dark
Forever alone
In darkness and death
You count every movement
Until your last breath
The last thing that you see
Is a strong flash of light
Followed by darkness
That matches the night
Step by step
You wonder off deeper
But the hill that your climbing
Is only getting steeper
Your eyes grow heavy
Your legs become weak
You fall on the floor
And you start to weep
Your looking for light
Listening for sound
Nothing is heard
Nothing is found
Round and round
You run in your rut
Wishing for home
A place to be snug
You’ve lost your faith
Surrendered your heart
Another lost soul
Lost in the dark.
