Chapter 9

Redpaw threw herself onto Flametail, giving her a death bite, Flametail fell to the soft sandy floor of the den, blood spilled everywhere, Redpaw's claws were now sheathed, but they were soaked with blood, Jaggedstar was not injured, yet in shock of what such a small apprentice who seemed useless had done. Jaggedstar announced a clan meeting, she told the gory story of Flametail trying to kill her, and Redpaw's fighting moves that saved her life. Now I shall announce a new warrior, Redpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and defend your clan even at the cost of you life?
She yowled, I do. Then by the powers of Starclan I give you your warrior name, Redtail, Redtail! Redtail! Screeched the cats of Thunderclan. She announced Maplepaw as the new wisdom cat as Redtail padded torwards the Highrock. Jaggedstar announced that Redtail's apprentice would be Snowpaw, and Mapleleaf's Yellowpaw. The cats cheered as the warriors and apprentices strolled down to their new dens. Redtail, didn't head to the warrior's den, but she went to the entrance of the camp, and left to find Echopaw.
