Voting

Trevor had just gone out on a date with his boyfriend, Craig. They talked and laughed, but Trevor still felt embarrassed. When a woman asked if they were dating, Craig quickly denied it and said they were just business partners. They were nervous that someone was going to arrest them. Gay marriage was not illegal yet, but they were voting on it the next day. Trevor went home and said goodbye to Craig.

The next day, Trevor woke up in a sweat. He grabbed his coat, got dressed, and ran down to the town hall. He jumped into a cubicle and quickly voted 'yes' for gay marriage. When he exited the stall, he saw Craig. They nodded, but both of them could tell that the other one was nervous. Craig stepped into the cubicle, and Trevor waited. When Craig came out, he held Trevor's hand and they went back to Trevor's house. They each sat on the couch. Neither of them moved for a long time. Then, Craig went home.

Time passed, and finally it was time for the election results to be revealed. Trevor nervously fidgeted with a pencil while he bit his lip. A woman appeared on the TV.

"Good morning everyone!" she exclaimed, cheerfully. "Today we're gonna reveal the results of the vote. Let's see..." The woman sifted through some papers. Finally, she held up a form. "Aha!" she said. "Okay... so, the majority of people, for gay marriage, voted..."
