H A T E At First Sight

"You beat the game...?!"

It was a quiet afternoon, and a boring one at that. Sophie was sitting up high in a tree, dozing off as usual, when suddenly-
"Sophie!!"
It was none other than one of her friends, Kitty, who was extremely, well, cheerful and a blushing abomination most times. Apparently, she was holding up a game in her paw.
"Sophie! You like games, right?? I DARE YOU TO PLAY THIS ONE!!! IT'S REALLY CREEPY!! >:3"
"Alright, alright, just toss it up here. I'll play it at night." Sophie said with a gentle look on her face.
Once Kitty tossed up the game up to her, she went to leave.

~11:00 at night~

Sophie inserted the disk in her computer and waited for the start screen to pop up. Like a child on Christmas morning, she was really eager to play this game. But also at the same time, she felt a bit scared. She never felt scared about a game before, why now? The start screen then lit up, and she quickly clicked on the start button, but as soon as she did, Sonic's icon then had an evil grin, his red eyes on her for a split second before going to the game characters. What the hell was that about?!, she thought to herself. She noticed there were only three characters- Tails, Knuckles, and Eggman. Apparently, Knuckles and Eggman were both locked so she had no other choice but Tails. She clicked on Tail's icon and a pixeled laugh came afterwords. She couldn't say that was creepy because, well, SHE'S USED TO IT. Well, used to creepy things like that that pop out of nowhere. The screen stayed black for about 10 seconds until the screen then showed a text "HILL, ACT 1" which then the screen faded in and the level title vanished, revealing Tails in a green hill zone. It was pretty normal scenery, compared to what the hell happened a few moments ago. She made Tails run for a while until, she noticed the scenery started to change- animals were lying dead as Tails passed by, his face turning to a sad expression. Well, she couldn't have Tails sad, it's kinda like backstabbing her friend, even though it's a game. She just made Tails stand there for a while, making him take a few steps forward even though his scared expression turned sadder and sadder. She noticed as she proceeded more into the scenery, there were more bloody corpses of those poor animals. She sighed, and since she didn't want Tails to get even more sad. she made him run back all the way to where he started out. What's surprising was that, there was a white glow all the way left at the screen. She made Tails jump into the light, and the screen faded into white, staying like that for at least 10 seconds.
The screen turned to the character select, except now- Tails was smiling happily. She noticed that Knuckles has been unlocked and clicked on his icon. The pixeled laugh came and the screen turned black again. This time, the level title said, "YOU CAN'T RUN." Sophie just shrugged, mumbling to herself, "Okay, I won't run, I'll walk. Common sense." Once the level has loaded, she noticed that the scenery has changed dramatically- the background was just like the home screen in that split second. She also noticed Knuckles's expression was just like Tails did from the level before. She made Knuckles walk until she came across a wall. Isn't Knuckles strong enough to break a wall instead of just running towards it like a total idiot? She pressed the spacebar for Knuckles to break the wall with his own fist. After the 4th wall was broken, Knuckles walked down the straight pathway. In the middle of the pathway, the screen suddenly blinked red a few couple of times, a maddening laugh echoed from her computer. She noticed Knuckles felt nauseated and, just the same as what she did to Tails, she made him stand there for a few seconds but made him take a few pause steps until, Sonic, the one she had seen in that split second when she clicked the start button, was right infront of Knuckles. Her eyes widened, she couldn't let this happen to Knuckles! Before the screen could blink red, she pressed the spacebar and a scream blared. The screen turned black for 20 seconds and suddenly went back to the character select. Knuckles appeared to be fine, apparently, his right knuckle stained with blood but his face expression was grateful, his eyes looking straight at her.
Now, the last one- Eggman. Personally, she REALLY didn't like this obnoxious man, but at least it's a game. She figured he might not be so bad in this game, and compared to the other characters and what happened to them, he REALLY needed to be saved. She clicked onto his icon and, apparently, the level title only said, "...". Guess Sonic didn't like this guy too much that he didn't even bother to give his level a name. The level then started, the walls were grayish purple and the ground was checkered. And right on top of the screen was a red curtain. Did Sonic want Eggman to run a show or what? She pressed the spacebar to see what he can do and, in a flash, Eggman jumped up and reached the rope that controlled the curtains. The curtains then plopped down and covered the whole screen, staying like that for 10 seconds until a text then appeared,"YOU BEAT THE GAME...?!"
Sophie sighed, managed to save every one of the characters. She was just about to close her laptop when a hand came through the screen and a voice boomed,"Whoa whoa, wait a minute- How in the hell can you beat this game?"
