We Are The Shadows (Short)

I just wanted to say that this is not the final story of the Picfic "We Are The Shadows', this is just something that I thought about while thinking of ideas for what the real story would be like. I'll just leave this here for anyone who wants to read or happens to stumble upon it. Okay? Okay.

Where is your shadow,
when the sun is gone,
does it stay around?
does it leave until dawn?

but people don’t care!
as far as they know,
the shadow could be dead
but it doesn’t show

the truth is out,
the story is told,
the shadows are living,
let’s see what beholds.

‘We are the shadows,
we are the night,
we are the darkness
but don’t get a fright,

We might not be human
that info is true
but to think that we’re evil?
let’s first start anew

Humans are important
it is a known fact
without their existence
it’d make an impact

but to us shadows
with our extended thoughts
we know they are saviours
but don’t get tied in knots

you beings are weak,
this power you hold
is still nothing but
a simple blindfold

for blocking the sun
you give us a chance
to live and cause mischief
stay right there, don’t advance

We shadows hold much
more power than thee
don’t get in our way
If we were you we would flee

So if you just stay
and be good little beings
we’ll stay as we are
good night and keep dreaming
