First steps
"Come on Oakkit! Lets play!" Called a small and high pitched voice. "I'm coming, I'm coming!" Another came. "I bet I could be the better warrior if you're this slow!" A hiss of frustration came with paws running around. Turtlekit finally opened her eyes, looking around curiously of what was happening. Her eyes followed two running kits that were racing. She then looked who was by her side. She saw a pale gray kit sleeping peacefully, and then looked at the tail that was curled up around her and the pale gray kitten. "You opened your eyes!" The cheerful mew surprised her as Turtlekit whipped herself around to see where the source of noise came from. A white and black purred in delight.
Turtlekit's eyes lit up, as the kit that was racing earlier stumbled towards them. "You're awake at last!" The sandy brown cat exclaimed. "Now we can-" he was interrupted by their mother who whispered, "Shhh! Cloudedkit is still asleep!" The kit flattened his ears against his head before their mother added, "You may play outside, just don't cause trouble." Oakkit nodded and hopped. "Come on, Turtlekit! Follow me!" Turtlekit stumbled a bit, but regained her balance and ran after him. "W-wait up!" Oakkit paused and rolled his eyes. "Come on slow poke!" Turtlekit caught up at last, as she panted between her words. "I'm... Here!" Oakkit smiled. "Alright! Lets play!" He crouched down in a playful position, his green eyes glowing mischief.
Turtlekit nodded and roared. "I'm going to beat you, Oakkit!" The yowl could be heard from the warriors den. She leaped at him with all her might, slashing her paws playfully. Despite Oakkit's small size, he ran away just in time before Turtlekit could catch him. "Come on, Turtlekit! I can run and dodge your attacks faster, yah know!" Turtlekit hissed in annoyance. "No need to brag!" She tensed up, with her paws ready to spring at his brother until they were interrupted once again. "Shush you two!" Turtlekit turned around to see a scruffy tom. "Some of us are trying to get some sleep around here!" Turtlekit lowered her eyes down the ground. "Sorry," she meowed the apology. The black tom's eyes softened. "It's alright, lad."
