Chapter 3
The next morning he had been woken at four o'clock in the morning! and his mother drove him to Gatwick with everything already packed and in the back of their dark blue Skoda. Jamie sat in the front as usual and slept all the way there. When his mum woke him up he was a bit disorientated because he had been asleep for so long. It was six o'clock now and less early but still pretty early!
His mother told him that it would be twelve when the plane landed so she had packed two cheese and ham sandwiches and a mini roll for pudding. But just in case some money for water or something else he might want in North America.
The plane journey was not pleasant and was fairly rough. He bought a packet of crisps (69p) and still had some by the end of the journey which he quickly stuffed in his mouth before walking down the stairs to exit the plane. Even though he missed his house he felt very excited and a bit nervous.
The bus that took them to the airport was ony fifteen minutes and as promised his Aunt and Uncle were there waving at him to get his attention.
The last time he had seen them was at his fathers funeral so he can't remember them to well. But they seemed nice enough! Jamie ran as fast as he could towards them seen as he had a bag on his back it wasn't that fast.
After they had taken his back pack with all his stuff in they went to their car and loaded it into the boot.
"Now Jamie" asked his Aunt "Would you like to sit in the very back with backwards seats or in the middle row?" "The back seats" replied Jamie excitedly! "We thought so" Said his aunt and uncle.
