First test

I head down to the grounds and see the warmup area. Charlie joins me and we stay silent.
"Hey guys," Says Georgia, obviously trying to cheer us up.
"Hey Georgia, ready?" I ask
"Ready as I will ever be," We have been chosen for this event. Every year the schools around the area hold a competition to see who are the best guards. The winners tend to go to rich important familys. We start stretching. The first test is to fight on your own. The teams where both people win get to go round, the others do not. The points are awarded to how fast you defeat your oponent, on the score boared. I find I am against Amy so I dont worry. Charlie is against a guy called Max who can strangle a lion but hopefully not Charlie.
I get to the arena and hear people shouting my name. Well this will be fun. I pick my combat knife (Pic) and go through the gates. The cheers rise and my heart thumps. This will be epic and I will give them a good show. When we get in and the horn sounds we are off. I imediatly throw my knife at her calf and it lodges in. I run and grab my knife then knocking her knife out of her hand. She punches me in the stomach but I dont feel it. My knife slices her head and she falls down.

I have won hands down. Charlie I know had won already so we were through. The crowd cheered and I stand. I bow and help Amy up. We leave the arena and Dane, Charlie and Georgia wait for me.
We look at the score boards and see WE HAVE WON. I throw my arms around Charlie without thinking then hastily try to remove them but Charlie to my surprise is hugging me back. When he lets go he has a big smile on his face. We get a big coat to warm ourselves up as we walk back. When we get to our living room we all have hot chocolate and Dane,Charlie and Georgia all sit with me. We tell the story of who we got and how we beat them. When we go to sleep I feel like we will win this.
