Fading out

Fading out

i wrote this poem because i thought that kids my age would be able to relate with feeling left behind.

Fading out

I’m running, running trying to keep up behind, trying to keep up with everyone; friends and family but their all so far ahead, I’m stumbling my hands are outstretched towards them, but I can’t keep up I’m running as fast as my feet can carry me watching with awe as everyone I’ve ever known fades into the darkness, I’m alone again walking along the faded path it’s dark, and cold. I’m lonely, I stop and rest maybe I’ll catch the next person who walks by, maybe they’ll take me with them, to tomorrow. I just hope they come quickly because I can feel myself slipping away; I’m fading out; I want to get to tomorrow but for now I’m stuck in today.
