It's Not The Same As It was
I remember the feeling of absolute freedom.Exhilarating, care-free, blissful freedom.
My hair being blown by the wind.
Wet grass between my toes as I ran.
Sounds of laughter and crickets filled the air with the soundtrack of summer.
These were the good days,
When summer came, there were no worries.
No regrets
No decisions to be made.
Just the wind, the grass, and happiness.
It's not the same as it was.
Now, there are thing to worry about.
Regrets.
And decisions to be made.
I know... I know.
It's not the same.
I'm not nine years old.
I'm capable of being responsible for my mistakes
And my regrets.
As my decisions.
I know it's not the same as it was-
But just for a moment,
I want to run free.
Let the wind tangle my hair as I run barefoot, chasing dreams.
Just for a moment, I want to be that happy girl.
It's not the same as it was.
But sometimes,
I remember what absolute freedom felt like.
