Dear Little Sister
© Savannah
Everyday the same sounds,
Screaming and pain.
Running up the stairs again,
Away from here I want to flee.
Just us little sister,
You and me.
I know he scares you when he shouts,
He calls you names and won’t let out.
I know the pain is hard to see,
But we know little sister you and me.
You know were not so different you see,
I feel that way too a lot.
I know he hits you,
He hit me sometimes too.
I’m sorry little sister that I can’t help.
Because I’m scared little sister,
Scared that I can’t stop him.
But little sister I want you to know,
He doesn’t want to hurt you, I know.
Because sometimes little sister I feel that too,
I feel like him and I take it out on you.
I’m sorry little sister for when I be mean,
But I can’t help it little sister it’s inside of me.
Because little sister he hurt me too,
And now that’s all I know.
I’m sorry when I scream and shout,
It reminds me when he threw me out.
He loves us little sister,
I know he does.
But he has his own problems,
And sometimes forgets about us.
Please little sister forgive me,
I will try to be nicer I will.
Because little sister I want to be good,
So you won’t grow up to be mean too.
I want you to be good and kind,
I want you to be nice to our little sister and keep her in line.
Please be stronger than me little sister,
And be well and happy.
I see it little sister,
It’s in you too.
But listen to me little sister,
Don’t go down that road.
If you do little sister,
You’ll end up like me.
I love you little sister remember that,
Because what daddy did is turning me mad.
