New Girl
It was my very first day going to Sliverkings Jr. High School in a September. I moved from a small town in California to Reno, Nevada. I didn't know anyone there, "Amanda, get up! You don't want to be late for your first day!" my mother hollered from the kitchen. I was scared. I mean, I had passed the campus before and it looks nice, but I didn't know my classmates. After three minutes of thought I got out of my bed, walked over to my new closet, and picked out an orange shirt that had the words "Wassup!" on it. Then put on a pair of jeans and blue shoes. Lazily, I walked through the hallway to the kitchen. I eventually found myself sitting on a chair eating waffles at the table. Before I knew it my mother had my backpack on my chair, " Time to go! ", she said cheerfully, " You don't want to be late on the first day!" I didn't tell my mom about how I felt the whole way to school. We got there before I knew it. The grass was greener than ever and the zero period students were walking off the grass. When we drove passed the gate, my stomach was in knots. I closed my eyes and thought, "Why can't I be home schooled?" My mom walked me out of the car and in to the office. Standing there was the dean and the principal, "You must be Amanda Kean." ,the dean said, "I am the dean of this school and I hope you don't have to see me in my office." The way he talked scared me. It sounded like I was in trouble already. The principal didn't say anything, she just shook my hand and led me to the door that lead to the school. She opened the door and I walked out...
