Smiles on Faces
As she peeked through the curtains she saw kids playing outside. They started with hopscotch, then they moved on to kickball, and then they jumped rope. By the time they finished playing outside they soon would head home for supper. All day Nadie would watch them play ball and jump rope. She always wanted to join but poor Nadie couldn't she was just..... different. And you know how some kids don't like other people who are different. All day Nadie would watch them looking out of her window. And silent lonely tears stream down her face. Nadie had to stay inside all day. She always saw how happy the kids where and yearned to be like them some day. Nadie looked at all the children smiling. Some kids with big toothy grins and some with little Mona Lisa smiles and even once in a while little sheepish smiles. No one played the games to win. They played them for fun. Nadie wanted more than anything in the world to have a reason to smile.
