New recuit
"I'll take the job!" Alexandrine said. I was excited to finally recruit someone. "Good, the you'll be part of my gang. You can come with me to our current base." I decided to wait till later to hand out the rest of the newspapers. I seriously doubt anyone else around here was going to take my offer, and I only had a few papers left. I guided her up the rusty steps to my apartment. "Hi dear make a new friend?" Mrs. Belcher called out. I replied "Yeah, but we're really busy right now." Mrs. Belcher smiled, and picked up her Calico cat. Me, and Alexandrine walked into my apartment."So this is our base. Here follow me to the spare room. I lead her to the spare room that used to be my Grandma's. "Wow it's really nice!" Alexandrine told me excitedly. I had a feeling she was lying, but she was homeless so this place must look pretty nice to her.What if she used to have a normal home? She probably lost it recently. Last year was what they called "The Big Move". It was a battle that took place in this area where many houses, and apartments were destroyed, or taken, and used for gang buildings.
Alexandrine put her stuff down, and sat on the bed. She had a hurt look on her face. "Thanks, Lucy you're taking in a total stranger, even though I have to work for you, I'm still really happy". It's been a long time since someone's said such kind words to me. It gives me this strange feeling. "It's alright..... Alexandrine". For some reason that made her smile. It's been a long time since someone smiled at me. What is this strange feeling i keep getting?
