Back in early 2004, before I and most of u all were born, ohkubo created a gender nonconforming character (Crona) based off of another character in his previous work, B. ichi, who wears a dress and long hair being a man (Emine). Although Im not fond of Ohkubo as a person, he paved a path in that way. Crona canonically uses they/them and is gender ambiguous, meaning their gender is unknown. Maybe they’re nonbinary but there’s a language gap between us and ohkubo. They would’ve See More used they/them if the set was more widely used back then aswell, as it is confirmed as the most accurate set and is used in the perfect editions of the manga that are still coming out, which have updated translations and quality and whatnot. Their gender is hardly ever outwardly questioned in the manga. They are my most favorite character ever, very well-written. I love Crona Gorgon!! Very awesome and unique character!!!
