story thing for my elf boi before I head off to bed

Varis was running,running for his life. If he stopped those men would catch him.. he shuddered,holding his bag with his precious cargo,a griffin egg,tightly to his side. He panted,his legs starting to give out but he pushed himself to keep going forward. He was on the run after escaping from a prison,he was charged with attempted murder,and with the help of a human and another elf. Those two had been caught,but See More they held the guards attention just so varis could get away and slip into the night. He reached a hand up to pull his hat back down and he kept going forwards,though slowing a bit as he tossed a glance over his shoulder and heard the voices and torch light behind him fading into the dark. He kept jogging a bit further until he came across and outcrop and leaned an arm on it to catch his breath. "By the..gods." He muttered,his breath still coming in shallow gasps. He finally stood upright,fixing his hat and brushing off his slightly tattered clothes. "Might as well set up camp somewhere far enough from those men." He sighed,walking onwards with a slow pace. The forest was a bit creepier at night to say the least. He stumbled across a clearing after a while of walking,he didn't have too many supplies,besides a tent,some loose flint,and a small blanket along with a pillow. He quickly got to work setting up his temporary shelter,setting up the tent first and yanking a few branches from the undergrowth around him and settled them in the middle of the clearing and cast a quick spell that started a small fire,the embers springing to life and he placed his open bag by it with a sigh,still having to at least keep his precious egg somewhat warm. Varis sat down and scooted towards the fire,putting the bag in his lap as he sat cross-legged on the grass. He let out another pleased sigh,enjoying the nightly ambiance.

Varis snapped out of his meditative state with a huff,sitting up from where he was laying on the grassy floor. He swore he meditated so hard it might've been considered sleeping. He glanced down at his bag,which was closed. He opened it to check if his egg was still there and intact and it was still there and safe. He let out a sigh of relief,closing the bag back up and gathering his stuff,the fire he sat in front of now burnt out and the branches reduced to ash. The first few rays of dawn light filtered through the canopy,the calm and quiet forest making the oddly loped eared elf relax.
