it really annoys me when people use gender and sex interchangeably
A person's sex is what they were born with, so you're right, and gender is what they identify as; social and psychological. Sex is physical. Gender and sex are not the same thing.

I'm not really sure what a person's sex really means, but I refer to it as the parts a person was born with and I refer to gender based on what pronouns they prefer.
